Sunday Morning - You and I
Sunday morning - some coffee, some jazz, some french toast, some swirling-around with a silver spoon... sitting across from each other, in a small white kitchen, you & i.
a little sugar, a little cream. blend it, swirl it ... breathe it, look into your eyes, sip it.
let this space fill with the morning sun shine. so light and crisp, as if all darkness of humanity has vanished behind. i toss a simple admiration, as that white button-down has never looked more charming.
a bite of toast, a crinkled nose. you make a silly face, i think i have dancing toes.
it was Salvatore Bonafede, now it's Tim Callicrate. the wonderful harmony of jazz and piano - warm and slow. take your hands, dance with you this morning; take your heart, dance with you through eternity. take mine, too.
... ...
what a lovely time, within the short measure of a morning. some say freeze the moment, i say don't; just look forward to live it again. make it a constant, as constant as the speed of light, as constant as the gravitational pull of the Earth.
I, hereby extend my invitation indefinitely, that you & i, have a date - sunday morning ... ...
